TrailerTime: Brooklyn

‘Torn between two lovers, feeling like a fool, loving both of you is breaking all the rules’. So sang Mary MacGregor in 1976, and so is the heart of Brooklyn, the perfectly pure romance from Boy A director John Crowley. It is the adorably simple story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish woman who emigrates to New York in search of a future. After a struggle to settle in she finds work, falls in love with the extremely Italian Tony (Emory Cohen) and all seems well. However when a family crisis back in Ireland turns her head she is forced to consider where, what and whom are truly her home. A huge success at Sundance this year, people were tipping the astonishing Ronan for Oscars 2016 glory before they had even left the theatre. The film will be released at the right moment for an awards run, on 6th November in the UK, U.S.A and Ireland; check out the trailer and vintage design poster below, and stay tuned to @dreamdepends for more info nearer the time…
